Oyster Tribe’s

Healing Program

“Ensuring no one is left behind” – Creating a future where Aboriginal women and girls are culturally connected, emotionally healthy, economically empowered, and living free from violence and disadvantage.

Program’s Core Objectives

The programs operate on the principle that cultural connection is the foundation of healing – when people are strong in their identity and connected to Country, they have the resilience to overcome challenges and thrive.

Our Programs: Three Path to Healing

Empowering Aboriginal Women and Girls Through Culture Three culturally grounded pathways to healing and empowerment:

Monthly workshops and one-on-one mentorship provide opportunities for women to deepen their connection to culture, address trauma through traditional healing practices, and develop essential life skills. This program fosters self-awareness, strengthens cultural identity, and promotes emotional wellbeing.

Meaning “Women’s Healing Place” in Wiradjuri language, DGP provides a dedicated residential space where women can access culturally appropriate therapies, engage in group healing sessions, and build supportive relationships with peers and mentors. This immersive experience allows for deeper healing and fosters a strong sense of community.

This component focuses on the specific needs of young women aged 16-25, providing early intervention and prevention strategies to address intergenerational trauma, promote identity development, and foster healthy relationships. By empowering young women, Oyster Tribe aims to break cycles of disadvantage and support the next generation of leaders.
